Another preventative measure is having an MRI performed. MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Another screening method is x-ray mammography, which is most often referred to as a mammogram. The newest form of breast cancer screening is ultrasound computed tomography. This method creates a three dimensional image to help detect cancerous cells. Any preventative measure taken again breast can potentially be crutial to the health of a man or woman.
Along with self examinations, it is also important to look out for symptoms of breast cancer regardless of any risk factors. A common symptom is an abnormal lump in the breast or armpit, along with change in size or shape of the breast. Although those are the most common symptoms, there are several others to be aware of. LMTK3 Protein Help Tamoxifen to Treat Breast Cancer

The UK researchers announced that they have found a protein, it will become the new target for breast cancer treatment. Experiments show that if the protein can be affected, it will improve cancer drugs, and make the tumor shrink.

Currently, Tamoxifen is commonly used for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. And there exist other mechanisms of TAM as anti-tumor drug, such as modulation of signaling proteins, oxidative stress, etc. Breast cancer survivors risk having their disease come back if they use certain antidepressants while also taking the cancer prevention drug tamoxifen, worrisome new research shows. If any cells show signs of the early mutations that lead to cancer, doctors can suggest the drug tamoxifen, which is believed to reduce the risk of breast cancer by suppressing precancerous cells. That is because many patients with breast cancer began to emerge drug reactions. A protein called LMTK3 has some effect on drug response. Researchers make the mouse with cancer do not produce the protein, and then treat the cancer by using the Tamoxifen drugs or other commonly used drugs will get the great effect. The role of drugs is enhanced, so that the tumor was significantly reduced. The researchers also tested levels of this protein for some human breast cancer. If some breast cancer patients with high levels of protein LMTK3, the effect of some cancer drugs will be reduced. Researchers are looking for a new drug which can control this protein.

Tamoxifen is believed to reduce the risk of breast cancer by suppressing precancerous cells. Women at increased risk of developing breast cancer shown to reduce the chance of developing breast cancer by half by taking tamoxifen in the Breast Cancer Prevention Trial. Anti-estrogen drugs such as tamoxifen (Novaldex) are a standard treatment for hormone-dependent breast cancer. About 500, 000 women in the United States take tamoxifen, which cuts in half the chances of a breast cancer recurrence. Tamoxifen has been shown to reduce the recurrence of ER-positive breast cancer when used after primary treatment. Women who often skipped tamoxifen had a 16 percent increased risk of death compared to women who filled all their prescriptions, the researchers noted.
